The 3rd graduation ceremony of International Campus was held

The third graduation ceremony of Sharif International Campus was held on May 11, 2011 in Kish. According to the report of the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of Sharif International Campus, the third graduation ceremony was held at the university conference hall on Wednesday.
As well as Dr. Gholami, the Campus President, the Campus professors, officials, graduates and their families, Mr. Ameri, the Managing Director and the Head of the Board of Directors of Kish Free Zone Organization, Dr. Roosta Azad, the President of Sharif University of Technology, Kish Friday Prayer Imam, and the Police Chief attended the ceremony at the Campus conference hall.
214 bachelor’s and master’s degree graduates from the faculties of Engineering and Management were present at the ceremony. It is worth mentioning that over 90 in the first ceremony and over 160 in the second were awarded the Sharif International Campus Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Currently more than 900 students are studying at undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. levels at Sharif University of Technology-International Campus-Kish Island.
At this ceremony, Alidadi, Kish Friday Prayer Imam, delivered a speech on “Science Right”. Then Dr. Bagheri, the Campus Vice-President for Academics and Research, delivered a speech on the intention of the campus to focus on graduate studies, the growth of the campus and the number of papers published by the campus students. He also added 167 graduate students and 47 undergraduate students graduated from the campus at this ceremony. In the past four years, 474 students, 362 of whom undergraduate students and 112 of whom graduate students, were awarded their degrees.
Another important point to mention is that 25% of the graduates of this campus won a scholarship to study at a doctoral level at some prestigious universities in the world such as the University of Texas, Sydney, Tokyo, Princeton, Boston, Oklahoma, Vienna, Manchester and so on, which indicates this campus graduates’ high academic ability.
Dr. Roosta Azad, the President of Sharif University of Technology, in his speech pointed out the change that the university went through from a private university belonging to Sharif to a branch campus affiliated to Sharif based on the Fifth Development Plan. Along the same lines, he indicated the conformity of the leading goals of the Organization with those of Sharif in the field of knowledge-based companies, the readiness of several companies to start work in this field, the establishment of a development center and a technology park and the vast interaction between the university, the organization and the Persian Gulf region.
At the ceremony, Mr. Ameri, the Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization, presented 30 top graduates with one Bahar Azadi gold coin each.
